Nagpaabot ng pakikiramay ang Department of National Defense (DND) matapos mabalitaan ang pagpanaw ni dating Senate President at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel na si Juan Ponce Enrile.

Sa ibinahaging Facebook post ng Department of National Defense - Philippines noong Nobyembre 13, ipinagluluksa nila ang pamamayapa ng “longest serving Secretary/Minister ng National Defense.”

“The Department of National Defense joins the nation in mourning the passing of the longest serving Secretary/Minister of National Defense, Senate President, and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile,” panimula ng DND.

“Enrile is an icon in defense policy and strategy, and played a foundational role in building the modern Department of National Defense,” pagpuri ng ahensya kay JPE.

Ayon pa sa DND, ang serbisyo-publikong inialay at legasiya ni Enrile sa bansa ay tiyak na hindi malilimutan.

“His long and storied career in public service marked profound changes in our nation’s history. His legacy in our country’s politics and governance will always be remembered,” anang DND.

“The Department extends its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. We pay tribute to his years of service to the Filipino people and his commitment to the defense and sovereignty of the Republic. The flag in front of the DND shall be flown at half-mast to honor his memory,” pagtatapos nila.
