Siniguro ng probinsya ng Cebu na makukumpleto nila ang sapat na suplay ng mga bakuna upang patatagin ang kanilang kahandaan at serbisyong pangkalusugan.

Ibinahagi nila sa kanilang Facebook post nitong Linggo, Nobyembre 2, na target nilang bumili ng anti-rabies, flu, pneumonococcal, at anti-venom vaccines.

“The Cebu Provincial Government is procuring various vaccines and medical supplies, including anti-rabies, flu, pneumococcal, and anti-venom vaccines, to strengthen the province’s public health response and readiness,” panimula nila.

“Dr. Nikki Catalan, the Capitol’s public health consultant, reported that the Capitol has successfully purchased 10,000 vials of anti-rabies vaccines, which have already been distributed among the four provincial hospitals and 12 district hospitals under the province. She said the supply will be sufficient for one quarter, or until the end of the year,” pagpapatuloy nila.

“Dr. Catalan also shared that the Capitol is set to purchase polyvalent anti-venom vaccines effective against the venomous bites of various snake species. These will be distributed to all Capitol-run hospitals as well. The Capitol will procure flu and pneumococcal vaccines to prevent severe cases of pneumonia and acute respiratory infections, particularly in earthquake-affected areas where many residents are staying in temporary shelters,” dagdag pa nila.

Inilahad din ng doktor ang layunin ng Cebu Provincial Government sa pagbili ng anti-venom vaccines.

“This is especially helpful to Cebu’s tourism industry, particularly in adventure tourism, where guests explore Cebu’s natural wonders and may be exposed to snake bites,” ani Dr. Catalan.

Sinabi niya ring ang influenza vaccines ay naglalayong masigurong hindi tataas ang kaso ng pneumonia at acute respiratory infections sa kanilang nasasakupan, lalo na sa mga lugar na tinamaan ng lindol kamakailan.

“Para ni siya specifically sa earthquake-stricken areas, katong naa sa tent cities, kay nag-anticipate man ta nga magtinakdanay sila didto. Atong puntariya ani katong 60 years old and above kay sila man gud ang pinaka high risk nga matakdan ug mamatay from severe pneumonia,” anang doktor.

“Ang cost nimo ani, mas dako pa og mahospital ni sila tagsa-tagsa. Mas barato ni kay sa mag-antibiotics na sila,” dagdag pa nito.

Inilahad din ng Cebu Provincial Government na makakatanggap ng isang specialized training mula sa Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center ang mga doktor sa Capitol, hinggil sa mga kaso at insidente ng tuklaw ng ahas.

Matatandaang inilunsad din kamakailan ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Cebu ang kanilang kauna-unahang “Sea Ambulance,” upang mapabilis ang pagresponde at paghahatid ng serbisyong-medikal sa mamamayan ng kanilang probinsya.
