Ipinagtanggol ni Davao City Rep. Paolo "Pulong" Duterte ang kapatid niyang si Vice President Sara Duterte laban sa paratang ni Makati Business Club (MBC) Executive Director Apa Ongpin.

Matatandaang sa isang panayam kamakailan kay Ongpin ay sinabi niyang nagastos nang mali ang pondong inilaan sa Office of the Vice President (OVP) para makipagtulungan sa National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Ngunit sa latest Facebook post ni Pulong nitong Martes, Oktubre 21, sinabi niyang ang confidential at intelligence funds ay legal na inilalaan at nasusuri sa ilalim ng umiiral na mga pambansang patakaran.

“These funds are used strictly for information-gathering, security coordination, surveillance, and confidential operations,” saad ni Pulong.

Dagdag pa niya, “Every disbursement requires proper documentation, liquidation, and is subject to COA post-audit. Hindi ito basta-basta lang na ginagastos kung kanino lang trip — contrary to your usual gossip-based conclusions.”

Isinumbat din ng kongresista kay Ongpin na bago kuwestiyunin ang opisina ng kaniyang kapatid, usisain din ang iba pang opisinang nagkamal ng confidential funds.

“How about the Office of the President, the DILG, the AFP, the PNP, the NBI — all of which have far bigger allocations? Did you ever ask who signs those billions? Or does your outrage conveniently end where your alliances begin?” ani Pulong.

Sa huli, pinayuhan niya ang executive director ng MBC na bago pumostura bilang ekspertong imbestigador, aralin muna ni Ongpin kung paano magpatakbo ng gobyerno.
