Nakatakdang magturo sa University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman - College of Human Kinetics (CHK) ang Olympic-gold medalist na si Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo.
Ibinahagi ng UPD Department of Sports Science sa kanilang Facebook post noong Miyerkules, Oktubre 15, na nakipagpulong si Diaz-Naranjo sa mga miyembro ng College Executive Board ng UP CHK upang pag-usapan ang mga detalye ukol dito.
“Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo met with members of the College Executive Board of UP CHK as part of the preparations for her upcoming teaching engagement. The meeting discussed course setup, logistical arrangements, and initiatives to further promote weightlifting in collegiate sports,” anila.
Kinumpirma rin ito ng manunulat at propesor na si Manuel Noel Ferrer sa kaniyang Facebook post noong Miyerkules, Oktubre 15.
“IT’S OFFICIAL - Our FIRST OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST HIDILYN DIAZ will be joining the faculty of the UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES COLLEGE OF HUMAN KINETICS (Sports Sciences),” ani Ferrer.
“Hidilyn Diaz’s journey transcends mere athletic triumph, as she now dedicates herself to knowledge sharing and community empowerment through weightlifting. By mentoring young athletes and imparting the values inherent in the sport, Diaz pays forward the opportunities she received, cultivating a new generation of Filipino weightlifters equipped with resilience, discipline, and determination,” dagdag pa niya.
Saad pa ni Ferrer: “Through her academy and advocacy, she kindles a lasting legacy that honors her country and inspires others to strive for excellence.”
Inilahad niya rin sa nasabing post ang isang pahayag mula mismo kay Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo.
“Excited akong magturo, at salamat sa UP sa pagwelcome sa akin. Masaya akong ishare ang mga nalalaman ko sa weighlifting, sa sports at sa buhay; at excited din akong matuto sa aking magiging estudyante at co-faculty members na tuturuan din daw akong magpickleball at iba pang sport,” ani Diaz-Naranjo.
Matatandaang si Hidilyn Diaz ang kauna-unahang Pilipinong nasungkit ang gold medal sa kasaysayan ng Olympics, na sinundan ng makasaysayang two-gold medals ni Carlos Yulo sa 2024 Paris Olympics.
