Nagbigay ng pahayag ang Liberal Party hinggil sa pagtatalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. kay Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla bilang bagong Ombudsman.

Ibinahagi ng LP sa kanilang Facebook post nitong Martes, Oktubre 7, na magpapatuloy umano ang kanilang partido na manindigan laban sa korapsyon, kasabay ng nasabing appointment.

“Tuloy ang aming paninindigan: Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap. Ang pera ng taumbayan, napupunta dapat sa taumbayan lamang. At kung may tiwali— anumang kampo o partido— dapat silang managot,” anang LP.

“At a time when institutions can be bent to serve partisan ends, it is the Ombudsman’s duty to demonstrate that justice applies to all. Democracy decays when accountability is optional,” dagdag pa nila.

Inilahad din ng LP na nakabantay umano sila, pati ang taumbayan, sa magiging kilos ng bagong Ombudsman.

“We implore Ombudsman Remulla to pursue corruption wherever it hides, and to remember that silence and complicity in the face of wrongdoing will answer, in time, to the judgment of the people,” saad ng LP. “Nakabantay ang Liberal Party, kasama ang buong sambayanan, sa mga susunod na kilos ni Ombudsman Remulla.”

Matatandaang itinalaga ni PBBM bilang bagong Ombudsman si Remulla dahil umano sa dekadang pagseserbisyo nito bilang mambabatas, gobernador, at abogado.

“Secretary Remulla has served as the 59th Secretary of Justice since June 2022. Under his leadership, the Department of Justice advanced major reforms to modernize the justice system, decongest prisons, accelerate case resolution, and expand access to legal services. His decades of service as a legislator, governor, and lawyer have earned him broad respect for his integrity and commitment to public service,” anang PCO.
