Hindi isasapubliko ang mga pagdinig ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) upang maiwasan ang “trial by publicity” at anumang impluwensyang pampulitika, ayon kay executive director Brian Keith Hosaka nitong Linggo, Setyembre 28, 2025.

“Currently, the ICI hearings are not livestreamed. This is the present policy of the commission. The initial hearings, so far, are for purposes of case build-up for criminal, civil, and administrative action,” ani Hosaka.

Dagdag pa niya, “The ICI is avoiding trial by publicity, and will not allow it to be used for any political leverage or agenda by any individual or group.”

Gayunpaman, sinabi ni Hosaka na magkakaroon pa ng karagdagang talakayan upang tugunan ang panawagan para sa transparency.

Aniya, “The commission is aware of the request of the public for the live-streaming of the hearings. I will discuss this matter with the commission for a solution that will both balance the request for more transparency and the protection of individual rights.”

Matatandaang noong nakaraang linggo, humarap sa ICI ang tinanggal na Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan first district engineer na si Henry Alcantara at ang dating assistant engineers na sina Brice Hernandez at Jaypee Mendoza, na nagpatotoo kaugnay ng mga kuwestiyonableng flood control projects.

Dumalo na rin sa pagdinig si Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco, dating Senate president Francis “Chiz” Escudero, at dating Senate finance committee chairperson Grace Poe upang magbigay-linaw sa proseso ng badyet sa Kongreso.

Ang ICI ay may mandato na imbestigahan ang mga umano’y maanomalyang proyekto sa imprastruktura at tiyakin ang pananagutan sa paggamit ng pondo ng bayan.
