Sinagot na ni House Speaker Faustino Dy ang liham ni Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Elizaldy Co hinggil sa revocation ng travel clearance niya.

Sa pahayag ni Dy nitong Biyernes, Setyembre 26, 2025, siniguro niya na wala umanong dapat ipangamba si Co hinggil sa kaligtasan niya at ng kaniyang pamilya.

“Let me assure you that, should you choose to return home, the House will coordinate with the proper authorities to secure your safety and of your family,” ani Dy.

Pinalagan din ni Dy ang naging pahayag ni Co na may “prejudgement” na raw ang Kamara laban sa kaniya nang ibaba ang kautusang i-revoke ang travel clearance niya.

“Allow me to emphasize that the revocation of your travel clearance should not be construed as prejudgement, but as a necessary opportunity to answer the allegations against you directly and in the proper forum,” anang House Speaker.

Saad pa ni Dy, “Coming home will allow you to respond to this complaint, as well as to fully present and elaborate on the defenses you outlined in your letter.”

Giit pa ng House Speaker, mas mainam din daw kung uuwi na lang si Co upang sagutin ang mga alegasyon laban sa kaniya, kaysa sinasagot niya ang mga ito mula sa abroad.

“The only proper way to address these matters is not through correspondence from abroad, but by returning, appearing at the proper forum, and answering the charges directly,” saad ni Dy.

Matatandaang sa isang liham, iginiit ni Co na tila pinagkakaitan daw siya ng sapat na oras upang makapagpagamot matapos ang palugit na 10 araw para makabalik siya ng bansa.

“I am saddened that my colleagues in the House of Representatives would deprive me of the time needed for medical care that I have long previously scheduled,” saad ni Co.

Dagdag pa niya, “And gravely concerned that the decision to revoke my travel clearance was borne by pressure, rather than adherence to facts and procedure.”

Sa kanila nito, nanindigan si Dy na mananatili ang palugit niyang 10 araw kay Co upang bumalik ng bansa hanggang Setyembre 29, matapos revocation ng kaniyang travel clearance noong Setyembre 19.

“You have until Monday, September 29, 2025, to comply with our directive,” saad ng House Speaker.
