Nagbigay ng pahayag si Akbayan party-list Rep. Chel Diokno kaugnay sa balitang pagbabalik ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., ng excess funds ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation o PhilHealth.
Ayon sa Facebook post na ibinahagi ni Diokno nitong Sabado, Setyembre 20, 2025, pinuri niya ang naging pagtugon ni PBBM sa kanilang panawagan na ibalik ang ₱60 bilyong excess funds sa ahensya ng PhilHealth.
Ani ni Diokno, “[w]e laud the President for heeding our call to return Philhealth's P60 billion excess funds to the agency. We ask the Department of Health to guarantee that these funds will be used to expand PhilHealth’s programs in providing affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare to all Filipinos, as mandated by law.”

Hiling naman ng netizens sa naturang post ni Diokno na gamitin sana umano sa wasto at malinis na paraan ang pondong ipinagkatiwala sa ahensya ng PhilHealth.
Dagdag pa nila, masugpo na raw umano sana ang korupsyon sa bansa upang maibsan ang hirap na nararanasan ng taumbayan.

“Sana mabago din ang rules nyang philhealth,kahit si nag huhulog nakikibangkami hirap na hirap magtrabaho at required maghulog ni di namin magamit yan sa simpleng dental, laboratory at check up!!!”

Matatandaang nitong Sabado, Setyembre 20, inanunsyo ni PBBM na magmumula ang pondong 60 bilyong piso na ibabalik nila sa PhilHealth sa ilang departamento kagaya ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

“I’m happy to be able to announce, dahil sa ating mga ginagawa, siguro alam naman ninyong lahat yung ating mga savings na bago na galing sa iba’t ibang departamento mainly from Department of Public Works and Highways, yung ₱60 bilyon na ‘yan ibabalik na natin sa PhilHealth,” paliwanag ni PBBM.
Nakatakdang gamitin ang pondo upang mas mapalawig pa umano ang benepisyong maaaring ibigay ng PhilHealth sa taumbayan.
