May paalala si House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa Supreme Court (SC) kasabay ng pagpapasa ng Kamara ng motion for reconsideration sa desisyon ng korte sa articles of impeachment ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa video na inilabas ng House of Representatives nitong Lunes, Agosto 4, 2025, ipinaliwanag ni Romualdez ang pagpapasa nila ng mosyon hinggil sa naturang desisyon ng SC.

"We filed this Motion for Reconsideration not to provoke, but to protect... Because if impeachments can be blocked by misunderstood facts or rules made after the fact, then accountability is not upheld—it is denied," ani Romualdez.

Dagdag pa niya, "To dissent is not to defy. To demand accountability is not to destabilize."

Kaugnay nito, tila may paalala pa si Romualdez sa SC kung hindi raw nito gagawin nang maayos ang sinasabi ng batas.

"The Supreme Court is a co-equal branch of government. Its wisdom is deep. Its authority is real. But its members like the President and the Vice President are also impeachable officers," aniya.

Matatandaang ayon sa nasabing desisyon ng Korte Suprema, nilabag umano ng ikaapat na impeachment complaint ang one year rule at due process sa proseso ng isang impeachment.

“The SC has ruled that the House impeachment complaint versus VP Sara Duterte is barred by the one-year rule and that due process or fairness applies in all stages of the impeachment process,” saad ng nasabing desisyon.
