Humingi ng paumanhin si Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima sa kaniyang unang naging pahayag laban sa Supreme Court (SC) kaugnay ng naging desisyon nila sa articles of impeachment ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa kaniyang inilabas na pahayag nitong Sabado, Hulyo 26, 2025, inamin at inako ni De Lima ang kaniyang pahayag noong Biyernes, Hulyo 25, laban sa SC matapos niyang igiit noon na hindi raw pinakinggan ng SC ang panig ng Kamara na siyang primaryang respondent sa petisyong isinampa sa kanila sa articles of impeachment.

“I regret and most humbly apologize to the [SC] for characterizing the impeachment decision as ex-parte,” ani De Lima. 

Dagdag pa niya, “That portion of my statement saying the House was not given an opportunity to comment on the impeachment petitions was grossly ill-advised as it was based on patently wrong information.”

Paglilinaw pa ni De Lima, hindi raw niya intensyong maparatangan ng mali ang Korte Suprema.

“Definitely, it is not my intention to falsely accuse the [SC] of not considering the side of the respondent House of Representatives. It is plainly evident in the decision, which I was able to read only after the release of my statement yesterday, that the House's  comments in the two impeachment petitions were indeed considered by the court,” anang mambabatas.

Sa kaniyang naunang pahayag noong Biyernes, kinuwestiyon ni De Lima ang naging proseso raw ng pagdedesisyon ng SC nang hindi raw pinakikinggan ang panig ng Kamara.

“Paano naglabas ng pinal na desisyon kung wala pang pormal na tugon ang respondent? Even traffic violators are given more due process than what was accorded here,” saad niya.

Matatandaang noong Huwebes nang lumabas ang naturang desisyon ng SC kung saan iginigiit din nito na walang hurisdiksyon ang Senado sa impeachment proceedings at sa Pebrero 2026 pa muling maaaring mag-file ng impeachment cases laban sa Bise Presidente.
