Tila nagpahayag ng pagkadismaya si Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri sa liderato ng Senado kaya bukas daw  siyang sumuporta sa ibang kandidatong napipisil na Senate President.

Ayon sa pahayag niya noong Miyerkules, Hulyo 2, 2025, bagama't walang pangalang nabanggit, iginiit niyang hindi niya raw gugustuhing magkaroon ng diktador na pangulo sa Senado.

"If you ask me, I'm for a leader of the Senate who keeps protecting the traditions of the Senate. Hindi ko gusto na ang leader sa Senate will be dictatorial type," ani Zubiri.

Ayon pa kay Zubiri hindi raw siya "satisfied" sa kasalukuyang liderato ng Senado.

"And if you ask me if I am satisfied with the leadership of the Senate, I'm not satisfied with the leadership of the Senate, so I am open to supporting other candidates for Senate presidency," saad ni Zubiri.

Bilang dating majority leader ng dating Senate President na si Tito Sotto III, giit pa niya, mas pipiliin daw niyang muli itong iluklok sa puwesto.

"Of course, initially, we're pushing for Senator Sotto as the Senate President because I was his majority leader. I'm a loyal majority leader of the Senate President," aniya.

Matatandaang si Zubiri ang sumunod na Senate President noong 2022 matapos bakantihin ni Sotto ang naturang posisyon sa pagtakbo niya bilang Bise Presidente noong Halalan 2022. Habang si Senate President Chiz Escudero naman ang pumalit kay Zubiri matapos siyang mapatalsik sa puwesto sa pamamagitan ng botohan ng mga senador noong 2024.
