Inaresto umano ng mga awtoridad ng Timor Leste ang puganteng si dating Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. nitong Martes ng gabi, Mayo 27. 

Gayunman, iginiit ni Axl Teves, anak ni Arnie, na kinidnap at inabuso ang kaniyang ama. 

Sa isang Facebook post, sinabi ni Axl na 8:00 p.m. inaresto ang kaniyang ama na wala umanong kahit anong kaukulang dokumento.

"At 8:00 p.m., immigration officers arrives at his residence and picked him up. They just picked him up without documents, without warrants, or any form of legal documents," saad ni Axl.

"They just came in forcefully, they took him out forcefully and right now, as we speak, he is still in the immigration building in the Timor Leste being held illegally by the immigration officers also surrounded by Timorist Police," dagdag pa niya. 

Giit pa niya, nagulat sila nang malamang "kinidnap" ang kaniyang ama.

"We were shocked that last night he was illegally kidnapped and is now illegally detained together with his lawyers. They were a little harmed during the process including the lawyer."

Matatandaang nahaharap si Teves sa iba’t ibang murder charges dahil sa umano’y pagkasangkot sa pagpaslang kay Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo, kasama ng walo pang sibilyang nadamay, noong Marso 4, 2023.
