Nagpahayag ng suporta ang Department of Education (DepEd) Teachers' Union (DTU) para kay Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte, at sinabing siya raw ang tamang tao para pangunahan ang ahensya.

“As the workforce that primarily provides basic education to all public school learners nationwide, the DepEd Teachers' Union (DTU) expresses full support to the Vice President of the Philippines and concurrent Secretary of Education Sara Z. Duterte in prioritizing the wellbeing of our teachers,” anang DTU sa isang pahayag, na nilagdaan ng kanilang national president na si Cynthia Villarin, nitong Huwebes, Mayo 16.

“Our organization believes that Vice President Duterte has been doing an outstanding job rallying for the improvement of basic education in the country, especially in providing support to our public school teachers,” dagdag nito.

Binanggit din ng grupo na “naa-appreciate” daw nila ang pagbisita ni Duterte sa mga paaralan sa bansa at pakikinig sa hinaing ng mga guro.

“After continuously coordinating and communicating with Vice President Duterte, our group is sending our sincerest gratitude for fulfilling the long-time request of the teachers for years as she signed the policy that immediately removes the administrative tasks of teachers,” anang DTU.

“As follow-up assistance to our public school teachers, VP Duterte implemented a policy that rationalizes teachers' workload, ensuring that we can solely focus on teaching our learners inside the classroom. We consider these policies as landmark accomplishments by the Duterte Administration in DepEd. These policies proved that our Vice President has been there for our teachers and serving their best interests,” saad pa nito.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi ng DTU na naniniwala silang si Duterte umano ang tamang tao para manguna sa DepEd.

“Our Vice President and Secretary of Education has shown her commitment to providing public school teachers with ample support in ensuring that learning delivery will be improved in the country,” saad ng DTU.

“We believe that she is the right person to lead the Education Department as she has the heart and mind for Filipino teachers and learners, proven by her recent actions,” dagdag pa nito.

Matatandaang kamakailan lamang ay ilang mga personalidad sa politika, kabilang na sina dating Senador Leila de Lima at dating Senador Sonny Trillanes, ang nanawagan kay Duterte na magbitiw na bilang kalihim ng DepEd matapos umanong “insultuhin” ng pamilya nito si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
