Pormal nang idineklara ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) nitong Biyernes, Marso 22, ang pagtatapos ng panahon ng northeast monsoon o Amihan at pagsisimula ng tag-init sa bansa.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng PAGASA na asahan ang mas mainit pang temperatura pagdating sa mga susunod na araw, bagama’t makararanas pa rin daw ng thunderstorms ang ilang bahagi ng bansa, karaniwan tuwing tanghali at gabi.

Kaugnay nito, pinaalalahanan ng PAGASA ang publiko na patuloy na mag-ingat at uminom ng sapat na tubig upang hindi magkasakit kaugnay ng mainit na panahon.

“The public and all concerned government agencies are advised to continue their ongoing precautionary measures to minimize heat stress, optimize the daily use of water for personal and domestic consumption, and prevent any accompanying health risks associated with this climate condition,” anang PAGASA.

Ayon pa sa PAGASA, posible ring magpatuloy ang mababang tsansa ng pag-ulan dahil na rin sa epekto ng El Niño sa bansa.

“With the ongoing El Niño, significant reduction from the normal rainfall or drier-than-usual conditions will likely to continue which may bring negative impacts (such as dry spells and droughts) in most areas of the country,” saad ng PAGASA.

“The different climate-sensitive sectors such as the water resources, agriculture, energy, health, public safety, and other key sectors in the country may continue to be adversely affected,” dagdag pa nito.
