Binati ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez si Deputy Speaker Ralph Recto para sa pagkakatalaga sa kaniya bilang bagong kalihim ng Department of Finance (DOF).

Sa kaniyang pahayag nitong Biyernes, Enero 12, sinabi ni Romualdez na “well-deserved” ang naging pagtalaga kay Rector sa naturang posisyon.

“His extensive knowledge and profound grasp of economics uniquely qualify him for this crucial role, making him the most fitting candidate," pahayag ni Romualdez.

Ayon pa sa House leader, patuloy na ipinapakita ni Recto ang “outstanding leadership,” partikular na raw sa mga bagay na may kaugnayan sa mga patakaran sa pananalapi ng bansa.

“As the former chairperson of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, he played a pivotal role in shaping legislation that significantly impacted our country's economic landscape,” ani Romualdez.

"A visionary economist, Secretary Recto has played a key role in crafting policies aligned with the needs of the people. His dedication to sound economic principles, coupled with genuine concern for the welfare of every Filipino, has earned him respect from colleagues and constituents alike.”

"Secretary Recto's contributions extend beyond legislative accomplishments. His exemplary tenure as socioeconomic planning secretary and director-general of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) reflects his competence and commitment to formulating strategies for sustainable growth and progress," saad pa niya.

Bukod dito, binanggit ni Romualdez na ang pagkahalal sa Kamara ni Recto bilang isa sa mga deputy speaker ng 19th Congress ay isang patunay ng kaniya umanong kakayahan sa posisyon.

"I am optimistic that his vision and experience will significantly contribute to realizing our shared goals for a more economically vibrant and inclusive Philippines under the Marcos administration,” saad ng mambabatas.

"Once again, congratulations, Secretary Ralph Recto. May your tenure be marked by groundbreaking initiatives that uplift the lives of our people and propel our nation toward greater heights," dagdag pa niya.

Si Recto ay naging senador noong 2001 hanggang 2007 at 2010 hanggang 2022. Naging Senate President Pro Tempore siya mula 2017 hanggang 2022.

Nanumpa siya bilang DOF secretary sa Malacañang nitong Biyernes ng hapon, dahilan din kaya’t lilisanin niya ang posisyon bilang Batangas 6th district representative.
