Nagpahayag ng pakikiisa si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong Marcos Jr. sa pagdiriwang ng mga Katoliko ng Pista ng Itim na Nazareno.
Sa kaniyang mensahe nitong Lunes, Enero 8, sinabi ni Marcos na ang Pista ng Itim na Nazareno ay nagpapakita ng pagmamahal at sakripisyo ni Hesu-Kristo sa pag-aalay ng Kaniyang buhay para sa sanlibutan.
“Beyond the extraordinary expressions of reverence that we see on display during this event, the festivities show us the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ who willingly offered Himself to make us whole once more. Indeed, it is a magnificent celebration of the enduring mercy and boundless love that the Almighty graciously bestows upon us all,” pahayag ni Marcos.
“Let this occasion also remind us of the virtue of embracing our sufferings, for it is during moments of hardship that we are given the opportunity to undergo renewal and spiritual transformation. By working through our struggles and difficulties, we discover our inner strength and resolve, emerging from the pits of darkness and despair with a renewed sense of hope and purpose,” dagdag pa niya.

Nanawagan din ang pangulo na maging inspirasyon nawa umano ng mga debotong Katoliko ang naturang pagdiriwang upang mapalalim ang kanilang ugnayan sa Diyos at sa kanilang kapwa, nang sa gayon ay maging instrumento raw sila ng kapayapaan, pagkakaisa, at ng pagiging mahabagin sa kanilang kapwa-Pilipino at bansa.
“With our faith guiding our every word and deed, I am certain that we will build a brighter future for our nation and create a world where love, kindness, and harmony reign supreme,” saad pa ng pangulo.
Matatandaang idineklara ni Marcos kamakailan ang Enero 9, 2024, Martes, bilang special non-working day sa Lungsod ng Maynila upang bigyang-daan daw ang pagdiriwang ng Pista ng Itim na Nazareno.
