Inanunsyo ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) na binubuksan na ang nominasyon para sa Pambansang Alagad ng Sining o National Artist para sa iba't ibang anyo ng sining.
Ayon sa opisyal na Facebook page ng NCCA, may hanggang Hunyo 30, 2024 ang pagtanggap ng nominasyon para sa mga karapat-dapat na indibidwal para Architecture and Allied Arts, Dance, Design, Film and Broadcast Arts, Literature, Music, Theater at Visual Arts.
"The nomination period for the Order of National Artist is now open until June 30, 2024!" mababasa sa kanilang Facebook post.

"The Order of National Artist or Orden ng Pambansang Alagad ng Sining, is the highest national recognition given to a Filipino individual who has made significant contributions to the Philippines through their achievements in the fields of Architecture and Allied Arts, Dance, Design, Film and Broadcast Arts, Literature, Music, Theater and Visual Arts."
"Nominations may be submitted by government and non-government cultural organizations, educational institutions, as well as private foundations and councils."
Noong Nobyembre 24 ay idinaos naman ang press conference para sa pagbubukas ng nominasyon na dinaluhan ng mga National Artists, at ginanap sa NCCA Tanghalang Leandro Locsin.
"In attendance during the Press Conference are National Artist for Literature Gemino Abad, National Artist for Dance Alice Reyes, and National Artist for Film Ricky Lee, together with NCCA Chair Victorino Mapa Manalo, CCP Chairman Jaime Laya, CCP President Michelle Nikki Junia, NCCA Executive Director Oscar Casaysay, and NCCA Deputy Executive Director Marichu Tellano," anila.
"By virtue of Proclamation No. 1001 dated April 27, 1972, the Order of National Artist (ONA), or Orden ng Pambansang Alagad ng Sining, was established to bestow appropriate recognition and prestige on Filipinos who have distinguished themselves and made outstanding contributions to Philippine arts and letters," dagdag pa.
