Nasa 103 tindahan ang ipinasara ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) dahil sa umano'y pagkakasangkot sa tax fraud.
Sa social media post ng ahensya, binanggit ni Commissioner Romeo Lumagui, Jr. na ang mga nasabing tindahan ay nakapuwesto sa mga shopping center sa bansa.
Aniya, hindi inire-report ng mga nasabing establisimyento ang aktuwal na kita dahil gumagamit sila ng hindi rehistradong Point of Sales (POS) machine.

Bukod dito, gumagamit din ang mga nasabing tindahan ng sales suppression devices at software na hindi aprubado ng BIR.
"This nationwide closure of a chain of shopping centers is a reminder to all businessmen to register its POS machines and NOT to tamper with the machines. This is a scheme for sales suppression. I have ordered the BIR to investigate all businesses that engage in this kind of tax fraud because it involves under-declaration of sales. We will not hesitate to close down all your stores in the country," banta pa ng opisyal.
Idinagdag pa ng opisyal, isinara ang mga establisimyento dahil na rin sa paglabag sa National Internal Revenue Code at Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 3-2009.
