Nagpasalamat si House Deputy Minority leader at ACT Teachers Partylist Rep. France Castro sa suportang natanggap daw niya mula kina House Speaker Martin Romualdez at iba pang House party leaders sa gitna ng “death threats” umano ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
"I am grateful for the support and solidarity shown by House Speaker Romualdez and other party leaders during this challenging time. Their unwavering commitment to the safety and security of all lawmakers is commendable," pahayag ni Castro nitong Lunes, Oktubre 16.
"This incident is a stark reminder of the dangers faced by those who dare to speak up and fight for the rights and welfare of the Filipino people. It is crucial that we continue to uphold freedom of expression and protect the voices of dissent in our democracy,” dagdag pa niya.
Samantala, binigyang-diin ni Castro na mahalaga umanong matugunan ang “state of impunity” na nagpapahintulot para pagbantaan ang public servants.

Nanawagan din ang mambabatas sa Kamara na unahing isabatas ang mga nagpapatibay sa proteksyon at kaligtasan ng human rights defenders.
"We must work together to create an environment where lawmakers and activists can carry out their duties and advocacies without fear of reprisal. It is our responsibility to safeguard the democratic space and protect those who champion the rights of the marginalized and vulnerable," ani Castro.
Matatandaang pinatutsadahan kamakailan ni Duterte si Castro, at sinabing gagamitin umano ng kaniyang anak na si Vice President Sara Duterte ang confidential at intelligence funds (CIF) nito para sa Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) at upang ihinto umano ang communist insurgency sa bansa.
“Pero ang una mong target sa intelligence fund mo, ‘kayo, ikaw, France (Castro), kayong mga komunista ang gusto kong patayin,” ani Duterte kamakailan.
Naglabas naman ng pahayag si House Deputy Majority Leader Franz Pumaren nitong Lunes bilang pag-alma sa naturang pahayag ng dating pangulo laban kay Castro.
