Tampok ng Recording Academy sa kamakailang artikulo ang P-pop group na BGYO bilang isa sa “The Many Sounds of Asian Pop.”

Napabilang sa sampung featured Asian artists ang tinaguriang “Aces of P-pop” sa kaabang-abang na act sa rehiyon na anang Grammys ay “worthy of checking out.”

Sa naturang pagtatampok, kinilala ng academy ang matagal muna na inindang struggles ng Asian music sa mainstream entertainment dahil sa “stereotyping, exoticism and othering” at maging dahil sa diskriminasyon.

“Asian artists around the world have been responsible for some of the most exciting and eclectic music being released today,” saad ng Recording Academy ngayon gayunpaman.

Kabilang nga sa mga tampok na Asian sounds si South Korean singer-songwriter Car, Chinese singer Lexie Liu, alt-pop singer-songwriter So!YoON!, Thai pop girl group PRETZELLE, Korean rock band Volunteers frontwoman Baek Yerin, Thai Indie singer-songwriter Phum Viphurit, Japanese boy band Sexy Zone, Hong Kong hip-hop star Tyson Yoshi, Vietnamese top soloist MIN at ang Pinoy pop group BGYO.

“Dubbed the "Aces of P-pop," the group’s name is an acronym for ‘Becoming the change, Going further, You and I, Originally Filipino.’ The quintet mix elements of pop and R&B, and attribute their music and style to their Filipino roots,” paglalarawan ng Grammys.

“BGYO's lyrics focus on social issues relevant to youth such as self-love, empowerment and hope. Their debut single‘The Light’made the group the fifth Filipino artist ever to appear on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart, debuting at No. 2. BGYOcapped offtheir debut year with more than 10 million streams on Spotify and 12 million views on YouTube,” dagdag ng artikulo.

Matapos ang espesyal na pagkilala sa grupo ay bumuhos naman ang pagbati ng kanilang tagasuporta online.

Ang BGYO ay produkto ng ABS-CBN Star Hunt Academy na ipinakilala bilang grupo noong 2021.
