Kinumpiska ng gobyerno ang ₱54 milyong halaga ng ipinuslit na diesel na sakay ng isang barko sa karagatang sakop ng Sual, Pangasinan kamakailan, ayon sa Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Sa pahayag ni BOC Commissioner Bien Rubio, nasa 1,350 kilolitres ang nadiskubre ng mga tauhan ng Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) at ng Port Operations Division ng Sual subport sa ikinasang inspeksyon sa MV Veronica-1 nitong Mayo 4.

“I commend the Port of San Fernando and the joint task force for their successful operation against smuggled fuel. This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to securing our borders and protecting our economy from the adverse effects of smuggling,” ani Rubio.

“Rest assured that the Bureau of Customs will continue to work closely with our partner agencies to strengthen our intelligence gathering and border security measures to prevent similar attempts in the future,” dagdag ng opisyal.

Kasama rin sa anti-smuggling operation ang mga tauhan ngPhilippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine Navy (PN), Philippine National Police-Maritime Group (MG) at Sual Municipal Police.
