Hindi na oobligahin ngLand Transportation Office (LTO) na sumailalim sa periodic medical examination ang mga may driver's license na may lima o 10 taong bisa.
Ito ay kasunod ng direktiba ni LTO chief Jay Art Tugade na amyendahan ang LTO Memorandum Circular 2021-2285 o ang “Supplemental Implementing Rules and Regulations” ng Republic Act 10930.
Aniya, ang desisyon ay nakabatay sa mga ginawang pag-aaral at konsultasyon.
"There’s no empirical data saying that the periodic medical examination could prevent road crashes,” aniya.

"For licenses who will be issued a 5-year validity driver’s license and 10-year validity driver’s license, the medical examination shall only be required sixty (60) days prior to or on the specified renewal date,” ayon sa memorandum ng LTO.
