Ipinahayag ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla nitong Biyernes, Abril 14, na hindi lahat ng impormasyong hawak ng mga imbestigador hinggil sa kaso ng pagpaslang kay Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo ay pwedeng isiwalat sa Senado.
Sinabi ito ni Remulla sa gitna ng nakatakdang pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs sa Lunes, Abril 17, kung saan sinabi ni Senador Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa na lalahok dito si Suspended Negros Oriental 3rd district Rep. Arnolfo ‘’Arnie’’ Teves Jr., na isa sa mga tinitingnang mastermind sa pagpaslang sa gobernador, sa pamamagitan ng video conferencing.

Naniniwala naman umano si Remulla na hindi papayagan ng Senado si Teves na lumahok sa pagdinig sa pamamagitan ng video conferencing.

“There are matters that would not be possible, that would not be palatable to a body like the Senate or the House [of Representatives] for people to appear and they cannot be held in contempt or they cannot speak under oath,” saad ni Remulla.
Samantala, sinabi rin ni Remulla lalahok siya sa naturang pagdinig.
“I sent a letter already to the Senate about certain matters that we cannot give to them because we are still actively studying the cases. We are still actively investigating them,” aniya.
May mga bagay din umanong hindi nila mapagdidiskusyunan sa Senado o kahit pa sa “executive session.”
“We will hesitate to discuss because we believe that law enforcement has the prerogative to keep within itself the information that is needed to solve cases,” ani Remulla.
“Prior to the resolution (of a complaint), we have to keep it as a tightly guarded matters that cannot be disclosed,” dagdag niya.
