Naloka ang isang kilalang pageant analyst sa paandar na introduction video ng Miss Universe Philippines 2023 candidates kung saan napansin nga niya ang pangangailangan daw ng kalakhang kandidata ng “teeth whitening strips.”
Habang pinuri ni Davonna Finley o mas kilala bilang The Sovereign sa YouTube ang high-end na camera equipment na gamit ngayon ng national organization, katambal naman umano ito para mailabas ang imperfections ng mga kandidata.
Napansin kasi ng online pageant expert ang 4K camera quality sa ilan nang content ng MUPH na para sa kaniya ay kailangan na i-tone down lalo pa ang "over-emphasized details."
“This can be a good and bad thing. The videos that these girls did, kind of introducing themselves. We saw them speaking, which I love. I love to hear the girls speak because it does matter but once again the camera quality really emphasized some things and showed some things that I don’t think we would have [seen] otherwise,” talak ni Davonna sa latest YouTube content nitong Miyerkules, Marso 14.

“Everybody needs teeth whitening strips except for the few of you who are okay that clearly have veneers which is fine.
“I was a little bit shocked to just see how much that 4K camera brought out some of the imperfections that need to be addressed. I’m not pointing out much anybody cause quite honestly, everybody needs it,” pagpapatuloy pa ng kilalang pageant personality.
Sunod na niyang ipinaliwanag ang naturang concern.
“It is important when you are a spokesperson woman, you’re gonna be opening your mouth a lot. People are gonna be seeing you smile. You’re gonna see people face to face,” talak niya.
“Miss Universe is a United States-run organization and as an American citizen I can tell you right now, you cannot have off-white teeth, you can’t be rocking yellow teeth. If you’re gonna be living in New York City, taking photos, walking on red carpets so I’m letting the ladies right now, most everybody had the same problem,” walang patumpik-tumpik na saad ng pageant commentator.
“So maybe we just go through teeth whitening and then we’ll be okay,” pagtatapos niya sa isyu.
Samantala, ilang kandidata naman ang litaw na ngayon para kay Davonna kabilang na ang mga pageant veteran na sina Samantha Panlilio, Pauline Amelinckx, Michelle Dee, bukod sa iba pa.
