Hiniling ng isang kongresista sa Department of Justice (DOJ) na iutos sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang pag-aresto sa mga nagmamanipula sa presyo at suplay ng produktong pang-agrikultura sa bansa.
Iginiit ni Bagong Henerasyon Party-list Rep. Bernadette Herrera, dapat bumuo ng solidong kaso ang DOJ upang hindi na makalulusot ang mga sumasabotahe sa ekonomiya.
"We have to go beyond raids on warehouses. We need paper trails, electronic trails, protected witnesses and convictions," giit ng kongresista.
Kailangan din aniya ng mabigat na kasong administratibo at malaking multa upang mapahinto ang operasyon ng mga ito habang iniimbestigahan ang kanilang kaso.

"Some of these heartless saboteurs would try to blame external factors, that other countries are also experiencing the same problems. They would even blame the pandemic.But these wild fluctuations in prices and supply of agricultural products have happened time and again despite the many laws meant to curb economic sabotage—situations which have led many to suspect that the economic saboteurs operate outside and within the government agencies that are supposed to thwart the saboteurs," ani Herrera.
Matatandaang nanawagan si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. sa pribadong sektor na makipagtulungan upang malansag ang talamak na smuggling sa Pilipinas.
