Hindi umano totoo ang pagbabalik ng "Friendster", isa sa mga sumikat na social media networking site na pinataob ng sikat at isa sa mga pinakapatok ngayon na "Facebook", ayon sa Department of Communications and Technology (DICT).
Kamakailan lamang ay naging trending ang Frienster dahil puwede na raw ulit mag-sign up dito at gumawa ng account. Bagay na pinabulaanan naman ng DICT. Ayon umano sa "CERT-PH", bagama't kung titingnan ay tila lehitimo ang site, nadiskubreng maaari itong gamitin sa "phishing".
"Beware of possible ‘Friendster’ Phishing Site ‼️," ayon sa kanilang opisyal na Facebook page.
"Friendster was one of the top online networking services way back in 2004. Time went on until Friendster could not keep up with the fast-growing network world. Unfortunately, in 2015, the site had to shut down its social networking services due to lack of the company’s technology which led to a bad user experience."

"Stunner, a page from Facebook, posted about Friendster being back on social media. Thousands of people have already signed up for the 'new' Friendster. However, CERT-PH has assessed that the said website is possibly used for phishing."
