Naglabas ng pahayag si Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte para linawin ang isyu tungkol sa kanyang birthday greeting kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos noong Setyembre 13.

"For the President’s birthday, I expressed my appreciation for the man who has shown great concern for a working mother and how he provided his all-out support for his Vice President to be able to move around quickly and accomplish work efficiently," ani Duterte sa kanyang Facebook post nitong Huwebes, Setyembre 15.

"An appreciation was also extended to the President’s team, who works long hours, tirelessly hopping from one island province to another to reach our fellow Filipinos," dagdag pa niya.

Pinatutsadahan naman ng bise presidente ang taong nagpakalat ng umano'y kasinungalingan na ginagamit niya araw-araw sa pag-uwi ng Davao ang helicopter.

"I believe that a person who can conjure a lie from an appreciation post — that a helicopter is being used to go home every day, even giving in to the itch of maliciously suggesting that it is for personal use — should seriously reflect on why he had to lie.

"I think that if this person can recognize his anger, he will be able to overcome his bitter and spiteful self. Hopefully, he becomes a better version of himself — despite the cycle of hate that has enslaved him."

Nauna nang pinabulaanan ni Vice Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Reynold Munsayac ang tungkol sa isyu.

“Fake news ho yan na araw-araw ginagamit yung chopper para umuwi sa Davao. Una ho, Manila-based na si VP at kaniyang pamilya. Dito na po nag-aaral ang kaniyang mga anak tapos land vehicles po yung ginagamit nila,” saad niya.

“Tsaka ho lahat ng nakakakilala kay VP, yung history ng public service niya alam na napaka-efficient niya at palagi niyangpoprotektahanyung government resources. Ginagamit lang po ang chopper kapag kailangan sa official work and functions, based sa lugar na pupuntahan at urgency of schedule.” dagdag pa niya.
