"Happy birthday Sen. @AttyLeiladeLima! I was so looking forward to celebrating with you today, only to be informed at the stockade that I could not visit," aniya.

"May I also take this opportunity to remind the Philippine National Police that under R.A. 7438, any person under detention “shall be allowed visits by or conferences with any member of his immediate family, or any medical doctor or priest.

"Or religious minister chosen by him or by any member of his immediate family or by his counsel…;” and that the detainee’s "immediate family" includes “his or her spouse, fiancé or fiancée, parent or child, brother or sister, grandparent or grandchild, uncle or aunt.

"nephew or niece, and guardian or ward.” And under Article 125 of the Revised Penal Code, a detainee “shall be allowed upon his request, to communicate and confer at any time with his attorney or counsel," paglalahad ni Diokno.
