Binalaan ng Department of Health (DOH) nitong Martes ang publiko laban sa pagpapaturok ng apat o higit pang doses ng COVID-19 vaccine.

Kasunod ito ng ulat na may ilang indibidwal ang nakatanggap na ng apat hanggang anim na doses ng bakuna laban sa virus.

Ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, bagamat ang mga bakuna laban sa COVID-19 ay napatunayang ligtas at epektibo, kailangan pa ring maging maingat ng publiko sa pagtanggap ng mas maraming doses nito.

Ipinaliwanag niya na sa ngayon ay hindi pa aprubado ng mga eksperto ang pagpapaturok ng mas maraming doses ng bakuna at maaaring magdulot ito ng panganib sa kalusugan.

“What I can say is it would be dangerous. We have to understand that these vaccines are only in their Phase 3 trials so although it has been approved already, has been studied that it is safe and effective, but we need to monitor for long-term effects of these vaccines,” aniya pa, sa panayam sa telebisyon.

“We have to be cautious because we still don’t know a lot about these vaccines. We just want to stay within the protocols and the approved guidelines that our experts have given. With these approved guidelines, we are assured that it is going to be safe for us, it is going to be effective for us,” dagdag pa niya.
