Bumuwelta si Miss Earth 2021 Destiny Wagner sa isang Thailand-based pageant page matapos ikumpara ang kanyang locs na istilo ng buhok sa dumi ng baka.
Sa isang Facebook post noong Sabado, Enero 29, queenly pa rin na binasag ni Destiny ang malisyusong Facebook post na aniya’y nag-ugat dahil hindi maunawaan ng ilan ang bagay-bagay kagaya ng kanyang buhok.
“As the first queen with locs to EVER win an international crown I knew I would be subject to ridicule and criticism. People are often intimated by things they do not understand,” saad ni Destiny.
“Many do not associate natural hair (dreadlocks/locs) with the word ‘beautiful,’” dagdag niya.

Isang Facebook page na “TalkmissThailand” ang walang habas na nagpost ng larawan ni Destiny suot ang Miss Earth crown, kalakip nito'y makikita ang dumi ng baka na umano’y “inspiration” ng locs ni Destiny.
Pinalagan ni Destiny ang diskriminasyon sa hangaring tumindig para sa kapwa niya Black women.
“There’s a lot of things wrong with this picture but it deserved to be shared. For year's Black women around the world have been policed for their hair and the history of having “good hair” comes from colonization, colorism, and racism,” ani Destiny.
“To many “hair is just hair” but to many others including myself, hair is identity! My hair symbolizes strength, spirituality and resilience just like my ancestors,” giit ng titleholder.
Sa kabila ng tangkang pambu-bully, hindi natinag si Destiny at sa halip ay may payo pang iniwan para sa lahat.
“This post was meant to break me or attempt to bully me. However, it did not phase me, it fueled me & I Hope it fuels you as well to go out there and pursue your dreams regardless of your hair, complexion, economic status, and skin. May it fuel you to speak up against any form of discrimination and may it fuel you to love yourself even more and value the body you were born in!” ani Destiny.
“With that being said, I wanted to take the time to highlight some natural queens in my country Belize who are serving natural hair and representing Black Girl Magic.
