“Preparing for this mentally, emotionally, physically—you have to prepare. So I made sure my body was right. I made sure I was focused,” pagbabahagi ni Maureen sa Facebook live ng Missosology.
“The one thing I did for this pageant was I really created a lot of photoshoots and a lot of content before I came,” ani Maureen.
“I noticed especially with the pandemic, the game has changed. You don’t just show up. You can’t just be beautiful. You have to have a social media presence. You have to be well-spoken. You have to be prepared. It really evolved. It’s much harder now to be a beauty queen than it was four years ago because of the eye and the expectations. So I just make sure I was up to par,” pagbabahagi ni Maureen sa kanyang estratihiya sa pagsungkit sa korona.
“When we heard fashion, I knew immediately—no beads. I wanna be different because this is a pageant stage. I wore my pageant dress in the opening so I knew that we need something different,” paglalarawan ni Maureen sa kanyang wardrobe choices.
“I’m a simple girl when it comes to fit and silhouettes. I like a strong color something that hugs my body.”
"During rehearsals, everything went fine. During the finals, it was a bit crazy. I think it was just thrown on me but as a queen, we need to laban so I made sure to try to adjust it to the best of my ability but I loved it it was my favorite national custom," kwento ni Maureen sa naganap na final presentation kung saan kailangan niyang buhatin ang 12 kilong Sampaguita-inspired national custom.
“People think it is easy. You just put the photo. No. There are makeup artists, hairstylists, stylists, photographers, the whole nine yard,” ani Maureen.
