Hinikayat ni Pangulong Duterte ang mga Pilipino na magdasal para sa isa’t isa habang patuloy na nilalabanan ng bansa ang epekto ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Ito ang pahayag ni Duterte kasunod ng pag-alala ng mga Pilipinong Katoliko ng Undas ngayong Nobyembre 1-2.
Sa kanyang opisyal na mensahe na inilabas nitong Lunes, hiniling ng Pangulo sa publiko na ipagdasal ang kapwa Pilipino.
“As we follow the example of the saints and pray for our loved ones who have passed on, let us also pray for each other, especially during this pandemic,” ani Duterte.

“We pray for those who have died because of COVID-19 and we also pray for those who have sacrificed life and limb to save more lives and keep us safe,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi rin ng Pangulo na maaaring gamitin ang panahon upang magnilay sa buhay sa gitna pa rin ng banta ng COVID-19.
“The occasion offers us a time to reflect and be grateful for the gift of life and the promise of eternity. With the grace of the Almighty, I have full trust that we will brave these trying times and emerge as a stronger nation,” sabi ng Pangulo.

“This centuries-old tradition of honoring those who have come before us and led virtuous lives, as well as remembering our dearly departed, is a strong pillar of our faith and identity as a people,” sabi nito.
