Binalaan ng mga awtoridad ang publiko kaugnay ng umano'y pagbebenta ng pekeng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination slots sa Maynila.
Ito ay matapos maaresto ng mga tauhan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Anti-Fraud Division ang isang Chinese na umano'y sangkot sa nasabing iligal na gawain.
Sa report ng NBI, under custody na nila si Xiao Shi na gumagamit din ng alyas Feng Wang Qun.
Dinampot si Shi matapos tanggapin ang ₱5,000 na karagdagang bayad mula sa isa sa biktima nito sa ikinasang entrapment operation sa loob ng isang mall sa Maynila nitong Setyembre 9.

Nasamsam sa kanya ang mga COVID-19 vaccination identification (ID) cards na nakapangalan kina Qun F. Wang, Cuiyin Lin, at Wenjuan Yang.
“Online verification conducted on the Covid Vaccination cards recovered from Subject Shi’s possession showed that the QR Codes of the vaccination IDs are either tampered or non-existent with the exception of Wenjuan Yang showing that the latter is fully vaccinated,” pagkumpirma ng NBI.
Bago pa magreklamo ang biktima, nakabayad na ito₱18,000 sa suspek matapos maniwala na kaya niyang kumuha ng vaccination slot para sa kanyang unang turok, ayon sa NBI.
Ipinagmalaki umano ni Shi na may mga koneksyon ito mga opisyal ng Barangay 239 sa Binondo, Maynila dahil miyembro umano siya ngManila Covid-19 vaccination team.
“However, after payment, Subject became elusive and kept telling the complainant to just wait. This led complainant to conduct her own verifications and contrary to Subject’s representation, the latter is not an employee nor connected with Manila Covax Team. Complainant likewise discovered that Covid vaccination slot in Manila is free. Realizing she was scammed, complainant reported the matter to NBI-AFD,” dagdag pa ng NBI.
Iniimbestigahan na ng NBI ang katotohanan ng pahayag ni Shi na may koneksyon ito sa Manila Covid team, barangatat health officials.
Nahaharap na si Shi sa kasong Estafa, Direct Assault at Disobedience of Lawful Orders of Persons in Authority ng Revised Penal Code (RPC).
