Mula 1.76 nitong Huwebes, tumaas hanggang 1.86 ang reproduction number ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) sa Metro Manila, ayon sa independent research group na OCTA nitong Sabado, Agosto 14.
Ang reproduction number ay tumutukoy sa average number ng secondary infections ng bawat infected na indibidwal at ito rin ang ginagawang basehan ng OCTA upang pag-aralan ang COVID trend sa bansa.
“We expected R [reproduction number] to decrease almost immediately after the start of ECQ [enhanced community quarantine]. This happened last March [2021] and August 2020. Either the restrictions are not sufficient–too many people still going about–or the Delta variant is proving to be much harder to stop,” sabi ni OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David sa isang Twitter post.
Sa monitoring period mula Agosto 7-13, inulat ng OCTA na ang seven-day average ng mga bagong kaso ng COVID-19 ay may growth rate na 50 porsyento o 2,901.

Kung ikukumpara nitong nakaraang linggo, ang seven-day average ng mga bagong kaso ng COVID-19 ay nasa 1,903 lang.
The average daily attack rate (ADAR) or incidence rate in Metro Manila was also reported to be at 20.77 cases per 100,000 population, meaning it is already under “high risk,” sabi ni David.
May pinakamataas na ADAR ang lungsod ng Navotas (47.67) na sinundan ng lungsod ng Makati (37.19) at ng Pasay City (29.44).
Ang mga lugar na may higit 25 ang ADAR ay itinuturing nang “critical risk.”
