UTAH (AP) – Ipinahayag ni Rudy Gobert, Utah Jazz center at member ng French National Team, na maglalalan siya ng US$500,000 para tulungan ang pamahalaan sa pagsugpo ng coronavirus pandemic.

Ayon kay Gobert, unang NBA player na nagpositibo sa COVID-19, na naging daan para pansamantalang itigil ang NBA season, maglalaan siya ng US$200,000 para ipanustos sa mga part-time employees ng mga arena na kanyang pinaglaruan upang makaluwag sa kanilang suweldo.

Naglaan siya ng US$100,000 para sa mga apektadong pamilya sa Oklahoma City, kung saan siya huling naglaro at napagalamang nakuha ang sakit. May hiwalay 100,000 Euros ($111,450 USD) bilang relief efforts sa mga bata at health care workers sa France.

“I am humbled by the tireless efforts and care of people around the globe for those affected by COVID-19, especially my own communities of Utah and France, in addition to my appreciation for the state of Oklahoma and my care there, and of course, my Utah Jazz family,” pahayag ni Gobert sa opisyal na pahayag.

“I know there are countless ways that people have been impacted,” aniya. “These donations are a small token that reflect my appreciation and support for all those impacted and are the first of many steps I will take to try and make a positive difference, while continuing to learn more about COVID-19 and educate others.”

Nagpositibo rin ang kanyang teammate na si guard Donovan Mitchell. Sa kanyang video, pinasalamatan niya ang mga tagahanga sa patuloy na suporta.

“It means a lot to me,” sambit ni Mitchell. “I feel fine. Things are going well. Just taking the proper precautions. As was told to me by the health authorities, I’ve got to stay in isolation. So, I’m solo in here, playing video games all day and can’t wait to get back out there on the floor, man, play in front of the best fans in the world. I really miss playing in front of you guys and I’ll see you guys soon.”
