MAS malawak na programa para sa kabataang Pinoy ang binuo ng Negros Occidental Football Association  (NOFA) at Central Luzon Football Association, sa pakikipagtulungan ng  Philippine Sports Commission, tampok ang gaganaping Luzon Cup Football Tournament sa Nobyembre 21-24 sa Jose V. Yap Sports  and Recreational Park sa San Jose Tarlac.

Ayon kay NOFA president Ricky Yanson Jr., nakatuon ang torneo sa mga kabataang may edad 13-pababa at target nilang maisulong ang programa na maipalaganap ang football sa buong bansa.

"Our dream through" Football para sa lahat" is to support more tournaments and activities for all age groups. We want more Filipinos to enjoy football. And we believe more football development programs will eventually mean more lasting success in the international arena,” pahayag ni Yanson.

Sinabi naman ni Ramirez na handa ang PSC na suportahan ang lahat ng mga programa ng lahat ng national sports associations para sa ikauunlad ng mga batang atleta.

"The PSC will always support sports associations in their events and activities for sports development especially in the regions," pahayag ni Ramirez.

Kabuuang 15 koponan ang nakatakdang magharap sa nasabing torneo sa pag-akyat nito sa ikatlong yugto.

Ang unang yugto na Visayas Cup ay ginanap noong unang bahagi ng taon habang ang Mindanao Cup naman ay isinagawa nito lamang Oktubre.

Nanawagan din si Ramirez sa pribadong sektor na tulungan at suportahan ang mga mga programa para sa kabataang Pinoy.

“We want more Filipinos to enjoy football. And we believe grassroots football development will eventually mean more lasting success in the international arena,” sambit ni Yanson.

Iginiit naman ni Central Luzon FA General Secretary Ed Flaminiano, na ang torneo ay tapik sa balikat para sa progreso ng sports sa Luzon.

“Unlike in Negros Occidental, football is not marketed enough in Luzon; that is what we want to address with the help of NOFA and our other partners.... With the Luzon Cup, we hope to extend the love for football and development opportunities for students in both the private and public schools,” aniya.

“NOFA is known to have organized games, to produce excellent players who have represented the country in international competions. CLFA is fortunate is to have been selected as one of the recipients of NOFA’s program.”
