KABUUANG 5,000 batang atleta ang makikipagtagisan ng husay at galing sa gaganaping Batang Pinoy National Championship sa Agosto 25-31 sa Puerto Princesa, Palawan, ayon sa Philippine Sports Commission.
Ayon kay Batang Pinoy Secretariat Head Manuel Bitog, itatampok sa palaro para sa mga atletang may edad 15-pababa ang mga medallists sa isinagawang regional qualifying sa buong bansa.
“We are looking at more than 5,000 athlete-participants in Palawan. Our series of delegation registration meetings since the start of July has helped the PSC to clearly determine the number and profile of competing athletes in the games,” sambit ni Bitog.
Ginanap ang inisyal na pakikipagpulong sa mga regional officials nitong Hulyo 3-5 sa Pinnacle Hotel, Davao City, kasunod ang Visayas nitong Hulyo 10-12 sa Cebu City Sports Complex.
Akari Sports wala pang balak pasukin ang PBA
Isinagawa naman ang pulong sa South nitong Hulyo 17-19 sa ipa City Youth and Cultural Center at North Luzon nitong Hulyo 24-26 sa Provincial Employment and Skills Development Center, Narciso Ramos Sports & Civic Center sa Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Iginiit ng PSC, ayon kay Bitog ang istriktong implementasyon ng ‘Zero Plastic Policy’ sa kabuuan ng palaro bilang pagtugon sa Presidential Proclamation No. 760 of 2014 at Republic Act 9003 na kilala bilang “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.”
Kabilang sa sports na lalaruin ang cycling, gymnastics, judo, billiards, muay thai, rugby football, triathlon, soft tennis, weightlifting, wrestling at wushu.
