Upang matugunan ang kakulangan sa armas ng Philippine National Police (PNP), ang mga baril ng sinibak na mga pulis ay ipagkakaloob sa “deserving ones.”
Sinabi ni PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde na “no reason” para magbitbit ng armas ang sinibak na mga pulis, lalo na iyong mga ipinadala ng personnel holding and accounting unit (PHAU) sa Camp Crame, Quezon City, dahil bawal silang mag-duty.
“We admit that there is still an insufficiency of firearms although we are doing our best to address this issue. When I was in the NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office), the firearms of cops who were administratively relieved because of various offenses were being recalled and re-issued to other deserving cops,” sabi ni Albayalde.
“That’s automatic, if you have an administrative case which is not in line with the performance of your duty, like extortion, your service firearm will have to be recalled. It might be a good idea to implement it here [at the national level],” dagdag niya.
