RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Kabilang si Tatyana McFadden ng United States sa atletang may pinakamaraming medalyang napagwagihan sa Rio Paralympics.
Mula sa 100 meters hanggang sa marathon, sumabak siya sa walong event at nakapagwagi ng anim na medalya.
“The 100 meters is one of the toughest races, especially being a marathoner,” pahayag ni McFadden, silver medalist sa likod ni Liu Wenjun ng China.
“The 100 is really, really hard, so I was really proud with a silver.”
Nabalewala naman ang ratsada ni McFadden sa 4 X 400-meter relay nang matalo sa China at kalaunan at nadiskwalipika bunsod ng ‘lane violation’.
Nakamit ni McFadden ang unang ginto na 400-meter.
Hataw din siya 1,500 at 5,000, event na kapwa nadomina ng United States.
“I’m so thankful and so grateful for every opportunity that comes my way.
“I work so hard at it and it’s an honor. I love everything about this sport.Her teammates don’t begrudge her the attention.”
“Tatyana’s been awesome, she goes above and beyond to get interviews and to get newspapers and news stations to cover our races,” sambit ni Chelsea McClammer.
