Dalawang internasyonal na torneo ang gaganapin sa bansa, ayon sa Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas Incorporated (LVPI).
Punong-abala ang bansa sa isasagawang Asian Women’s Club Championships sa Setyembre at ang World Women’s Club Championships sa Oktubre.
Ito ang inihayag ni Philippine Super Liga (PSL) President Ramon “Tatz” Suzara sa pagdalo sa lingguhang Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) nitong Martes.
Hindi nakadalo sa pulong sina LVPI acting president Peter Cayco na nagkasakit at legal officer Atty. Ramon Malinao.
Volleyball fans may bagong aabangan sa PVL!
“The LVPI will be hosting one international tournament every year as required by the FIVB and AVC,” sambit ni Suzara.
Ang 2016 Asian Women’s Club Championships ay gaganapin sa Setyembre 3-11, habang ang World Women’s Club Championships ay isa Oktubre 18-23 sa MOA Arena.
Ang Pilipinas ay kakatawanin ng Foton, ang reigning PSL Grand Prix champion.
May kabuuang 16 na koponan ang inaasahang lalahok sa AWCC.
“As tradition for being the club champion, Foton will be representing the Philippines,” sabi ni Suzara. “But it will not be the entire Foton composition because they have the luxury to select players from other club upon the permission of the team owner plus two imports.”
Walong koponan naman ang sasabak sa World Women’s Club Championships kung saan tatlo ang magmumula sa Europa, dalawa mula sa South America at tatlo mula sa Asia.
“It will be a breakthrough as the host team is set to participate for the first time,” ayon kay Suzara.
