Upang palakasin ang morale ng mga Drug Enforcement Officer (DEO) ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), pagkakalooban sila ng hazard duty pay, ayon kay PDEA Director General at Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr.
Sinabi ni Cacdac noong Biyernes na inaprubahan ni Pangulong Benigno S. Aquino III ang rekomendasyon na nagkakaloob ng hazard duty pay sa mga DEO sa isang memorandum sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na may petsang Disyembre 9, 2015.
“Our PDEA operatives are directly exposed to varied dangers and health risks during the conduct of anti-drug operations. They deserve to be given additional compensation for performing hazardous duties,” sabi ni Cacdac.
Bukod sa mga PDEA agent, tatanggap din ang 95 PDEA chemist, na nagsasagawa ng laboratory o field duty, ng hazard allowance na nakapaloob sa Republic Act No. 8439, o mas kilala na “Magna Carta for Scientists, Engineers, Researchers and other Science and Technology Personnel in Government,” na inaprubahan ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
