Aabot sa 7 ang bilang ng mga indibidwal ang nagtamo ng sugat sa bumagsak na bahagi ng kisame sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 1 nitong Biyernes, Abril 3, 2026. 

Ayon sa mga lumabas na ulat nitong Biyernes, agad na nabigyan ng atensyon medikal ang mga indibidwal na nagtamo ng sugat sa naturang aksidente. 

Agad namang naglabas ng pahayag ang Department of Transportation kaninang alas-2 ng tanghali at sinabi nilang nagbaba na sila ng direktiba sa Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) na makipag-ugnayan sa mga private operator ng NAIA terminal 1 para maimbestigahan ang hindi inaasahang pangyayari.

“The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has directed the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) to closely coordinate with the private operator of NAIA, the New NAIA Infra Corp (NNIC), to immediately investigate the incident involving the collapse of a portion of the ceiling at the arrival extension area of Terminal 1 today, April 3,” pagsisimula nila.

Anila, alinsunod ito sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., na unahin ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero at empleyado sa nasabing airport. 

“This follows the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to always prioritize the safety and welfare of both the passengers and employees at the airport,” saad nila. 

Dagdag pa nila, “Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez has immediately instructed MIAA and NNIC to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and airport personnel, and to submit a detailed report explaining the cause of the incident.”

Tiniyak naman ng DOTr na nananatiling normal ang takbo ng operasyon sa NAIA terminal 1 at kasalukuyan na umano nilang mino-monitor ang naganap na aksidente. 

“As of this writing, the operations at NAIA Terminal 1 remain normal. The DOTr is closely monitoring the situation and expects a thorough assessment of the incident, including the implementation of necessary measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future,” pagtatapos pa nila.
