Naglabas na ang Senado ng arrest order laban kay suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.

Ayon sa dokumentong inilabas nitong Sabado, Hulyo 13, ang arrest order laban kay Guo ay bunsod ng hindi niya pagdalo sa mga pagdinig ng Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality noong Hunyo 26, 2024 at Hulyo 10, 2024.

“For unduly refusing to appear, despite due notices, at the hearings of the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality on June 26, 2024 and July 10, 2024, and thereby delaying, impeding and obstructing the inquiry into the REPORTED VIOLATION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING, SERIOUS ILLEGAL DETENTION, AND PHYSICAL ABUSE AND TORTURE IN THE PREMISES OF AN INTERNET GAMING LICENSEE OF PHILIPPINE AMUSEMENT GAMING CORPORATION (PAGCOR), AND OTHER RELATED RESOLUTIONS,” nakasaad sa contempt order.

“Upon motion of Senate President Pro-Tempore Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada and Senator Win Gatchalian, and duly seconded by Senator Maria Lourdes Nancy Binay, the Committee, during the July 10, 2024 hearing, hereby cites ALICE LEAL GUO / GUO HUA PING in contempt of the Committee, and of the Senate, and ordered arrested and detained at the Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms until such time that she will appear and testify in the Committee, or otherwise purges herself of that contempt,” dagdag pa.

Samantala, bukod kay Guo ay inihain din ang arrest order laban kina Dennis Cunanan, Nancy Gamo, Sheila Guo, Wesley Gui, Jian Zhong Go, Seimen Guo, at Wenyi Lin.

Dahil dito, inatasan ang Office of the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms na isilbi ang arrest order sa loob ng 24 oras.

Matatandaang kamakailan lamang ay iginiit ng abogado ni Guo na hindi dadalo ang alkalde sa Senate hearing nitong Hulyo 10 dahil sa “na-trauma” umano ito sa pagtrato ng Senado sa kaniya.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi naman ni Senate President Chiz Escudero na kung totoo raw na “na-trauma” si Guo, dapat umanong magbigay siya ng medical certificate.
