Pinag-iingat ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang publiko, gayundin ang mga gumagamit ng beep cards, laban sa mga naglipanang unauthorized merchandise na may beep card functionality.
Nabatid na nakatanggap ng tip ang DOTr na may mga kumakalat na mga di otorisadong mga merchandise, gaya ng mga charms, trinkets, keychains, bracelets, at mga accessories na may beep card functionality at mabibili sa iba't ibang online platforms.

Paalala ng DOTr, ang paggamit ng mga naturang produkto bilang stored value cards (SVC), ay hindi authorized fare media sa mga light rail networks, gaya ng Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) at 2 (LRT-2) at ng Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).
Babala pa ng DOTr, maaaring maharap sa kaukulang parusa, kabilang na ang pag-blacklist at pagkumpiska, ang sinumang mahuhuling nag-iingat ng mga naturang items, na ikinukonsiderang counterfeit at infringement ng intellectual property rights.
"The use of these products as stored value cards (SVC) is NOT CONSIDERED authorized fare media on the light rail network," abiso pa ng DOTr nitong Martes sa kanilang social media pages.
"AF Payments Inc. (AFPI), who is the legal owner of the beepTM trademark and logo and the sole and exclusive issuer if beepTM cards, has not sanctioned the sale, use and distribution of such merchandise. Moreover, such items are not covered by any valid product warranties," paalala pa nito.
"Those caught using these items shall be dealt with the penalty of confiscation and blacklisting as these form factors are considered counterfeit, infringing on the intellectual property rights and registered trademarks of beepTM and other licensing brands, images and designs depicted in these items," warning pa ng DOTr.
Dagdag pa nito, tanging ang mga 'legitimately sourced beepTM cards' lamang ang kikilalanin sa alinmang rail station acceptance points para sa pagbabayad ng pasahe sa tren at iba pang transaksiyon, kabilang na ang add value (top up), balance inquiry, balance transfer, card replacement requests, at iba pang rights at privileges, na itinatakda sa kondisyon ng paggamit ng beepTM cards.
