Si Alyana Bautista, na nakatakdang maglaro para sa Ateneo sa UAAP women’s football, ay pumanaw sa edad na 17 anyos dahil sa COVID- 19, sinabi ng kanyang kapatid nitong Huwebes ng gabi sa pamamagitan ng kanyang Facebook account.

Sinabi ni Martie Bautista, miyembro ng national team atfootball commentator, na ang kanyang nakababatang kapatid ay nasuring may rare inflammatory disease na kilala bilang Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) na nagkaroon ng kumplikasyon matapos siyang magpositibo sa COVID-19.

“These past few months have been difficult for Yana,” sinabi ni Martie. “She was diagnosed with ADEM that was further complicated by COVID-19. Many challenges continued to surface where much of them left us extremely exhausted – especially for my little sister.

“It is to our despondency to announce that my sister is now finally at peace and with God,” dagdag niya.

Ang nakababatang Bautista ay kinuha ng Ateneo matapos ang kanyang high school career sa katabing Miriam College.

“Yana had a lot of things planned out for this year. She had high hopes booting up for Ateneo as she was expecting to come in as a freshman this August,” ani Martie .
