BINALAK naming iulat ang business performance ng dalawang major media network nitong nakaraang taon, pero ang naunang dalawang quarter lang ang natalakay namin.

Para sa update ng mga sumusubaybay sa aming reports, hinagilap namin ang kabuuang kita ng ABS-CBN at ng GMA Network nitong 2018, at naririto ang resulta ng aming research.

Tulad ng naging trend sa first two quarters, tuluy-tuloy na mas malaki ang kinita ng GMA Network kumpara sa ABS-CBN.Bumaba ng 9 percent ang net income ng GMA-7 na P2.32 billion (P2.55 billion noong 2017).

Mas malaki ito sa P1.91 billion ng ABS-CBN na nag-ulat na bumagsak ng 39.7% ang net income sa 39.7% noong nakaraang taon dulot ng bumabang revenues mula sa advertisers at tumaas namang production costs.

Mahinang advertising revenues din ang itinurong sanhi ng pagbaba ng net income ng GMA-7 na ang consolidated na kita ay bumaba ng 2 percent (P15.2 billion nitong 2018 at P15.6 billion noong 2017).

Ang airtime revenues ng Siyete ay umabot sa P13.44 billion, bumaba naman ng 3 percent mula P13.86 billion noong 2017.

“The reduction from (lower airtime revenue) was partly cushioned by the climb in other revenue sources, particularly from subsidiaries’ operators and other businesses, which reflected a mined increase of P61 million equivalent to 4 percent,” ayon sa pahayag ng GMA nang ilabas ang kanilang taunang report sa kinikita ng kompanya.

Samantala, ang consolidated revenues naman ng ABS-CBN last year ay P40.13 billion.

“Advertising revenues decreased by P716 million or 3.4% lower, attributable to fewer advertising placements from the year,” pahayag naman ng Dos.

“Consumer sales increased by P149 million, mainly resulting from a 26% increase in ABS-CBN TVPlus boxes sold year-on-year.”
