TOKYO (AP) — Tinuldukan ni fourth seeded Karolina Pliskova ang pamamayagpag ni Japanese Naomi Osaka sa impresibong 6-4, 6-4 panalo nitong Linggo (Lunes sa Manila) seeded Karolina Pliskova in the final of the Pan Pacific Open.

Sumabak sa kanyang unang torneo matapos ang makasaysayang panalo kay major champion Serena Williams nitong Sept. 8 sa U.S. Open, nabigo ang Japanese star na makasabay.

Kinailangan ni Pliskova ang dramatikong pagbalikwas sa bawat set para makausad sa finals ngayong taon.

“I was just happy it didn’t go to a third set,” sambit ni Pliskova. “Naomi was playing so good all tournament but I think she was a little bit tired today.”
