Tiniyak kahapon ni House Appropriations Committee Chairman Davao City Rep. Karlo Nograles sa may 200,000 retirado sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) of iba pang uniformed personnel, na simula sa 2019 o kahit mas maaga pa, ay ipapantay na ang kanilang pensiyon sa umentong matatanggap ng mga aktibo sa serbisyo.

“The commitment of Malacañang, which is the guiding policy of the House of Representatives that possesses the power of the purse, is to adjust the pension of retirees in the MUP sector by 2019,” ayon kay Nograles.

Mabibiyayaan ang may 200,000 retiradong pulis at sundalo sa indexation ng mga pensiyon o pag-aayos nito. Gagastos ang pamahalaan ng P38 bilyon para rito.

“The indexation will take place as a natural consequence of the salary increase that’s been slated for military and uniformed personnel beginning January 2018 wherein the monthly base pay of a Police Officer (PO) 1 in the Philippine National Police (PNP) or a Private in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will be doubled,” ani Nograles.

Ganito rin ang mangyayari sa mga tauhan ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Public Safety College, Philippine Coast Guard, at National Mapping and Resource Information Authority.
