Sa pamamagitan ng warrant of arrest, arestado ang umano’y financier ng Maute-ISIS sa Quezon City, iniulat kahapon.

Sa ulat ni Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar kay National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde, kinilala ang umano’y financier ng teroristang Maute-ISIS na si Rasdy Malawani, na kilala rin sa alyas na Rasdi Macabangkit.

Malawani allegedly manages Salaam Bazaar in Novaliches Plaza Mall as a front for Ominta Romato Maute, also known as Farhana Maute, the mother of brothers Omar and Abdullah Maute. Sinorpresa ng awtoridad si Malawani sa kanyang tirahan sa Blk 4, Lot 2, Marytown Circle, Greenfields 1, Barangay Kaligayanan, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Minanmanan si Malawani nang matanggap ang impormasyon na katiwala siya sa Salaam Bazaar sa Novaliches Plaza Mall, Quezon City na pagmamay-ari ni Ominta Romato Maute, alyas Farhana.

Si Farhana ang iniulat na financier ng grupong terorista sa Marawi City at kasalukuyang nakakulong sa Bicutan City Jail makaraang maaresto sa Barangay Kamatan Mashiu, Lanao Del Sur noong Hunyo 2017.

Base sa ulat, si Malawani ang nagpapatakbo ng naturang bazaar at sinisingil niya ang mga umuupang stallholder at ipinapadala umano ang pera kay Azesha Makabangkit-Maute, alyas Lily, na asawa ni Madie Maute na siya umanong arkitekto ng Marawi siege.

Kasalukuyang nakakulong si Malawani sa Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) sa Camp Karingal at kinasuhan sa paglabag sa RA 10591, illegal possession of firearms.

WALANG DAPAT IKATAKOT

Sinabi kahapon ni Albayalde na walang dapat ikatakot ang mga taga-Metro Manila kasunod ng pagkakaaresto kay Malawani.

Sa isang press briefing sa Quezon City Police District (QCPD) headquarters sa Camp Karingal, Quezon City, siniguro ni Albayalde na nakatutok ang awtoridad at wala silang namo-monitor na banta sa seguridad sa nalalapit na Todos los Santos at ASEAN Summit sa Maynila sa Nobyembre.

“Despite this series of arrest, Metro Manila remains peaceful and we are very much ready to receive the 22 leaders in the upcoming ASEAN Summit and also the 3,000 delagates with them,” sabi ni Albayalde.

“Yes, as of this time wala tayong namo-monitor na clear and present danger or any imminent terror attack dito sa Metro Manila. But we assume the terror threat here in Metro Manila is always high para hindi kami complacent and we will be always on our toes,” dagdag ni Albayalde.
