Nasa 5,000 overseas Filipino worker (OFW) na naipit sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) ang pauuwiin na ng Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE).

Ayon kay Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, sinasamantala ng kagawaran ang 90-araw na amnesty period na ibinigay ng gobyerno ng Saudi para sa lahat ng hindi dokumentadong dayuhan.

“A team composed of senior officials will be flying to Saudi this April to bring home at least 5,000 undocumented and stranded OFWs. This is our top priority. We will do our best to process their travel documents as soon as possible,” ani Bello.

Kasunod ng amnestiya na ibinigay ng Saudi Arabia, inatasan ni Bello si Labor Undersecretary Dominador Say, nagsisilbi ring officer-in-charge ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), na pangunahan ang pagpapauwi ng mga OFW sa Saudi sa Pilipinas.
